I took a bowl turning class with a master turner, David Ellsworth, and have undertaken a new
hobby.   I am having an amazing time with my new lathe.   Some day I hope to be good at it.   
These are my early endeavors.
I love the coloring and imperfections in the wood when finished.   The fun is in trying to find new woods
that have exciting characteristics.   These two small "spirit bowls" are from plum wood and get the blue
ribbon for grain and color.     
The wood used here is apple and wild cherry and theres the plum in the
back left.
